Launched in November 2018, the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Zoom was DJI's first compact drone with explicit commercial positioning and modular accessories for specialized operations. With a body identical to the Mavic 2, it replaced the Hasselblad camera with a 2× optical zoom unit and added a proprietary top connector for interchangeable accessories. Technical support ends on May 29, 2026.
Camera and Optical System
The Mavic 2 Enterprise Zoom uses a 1/2.3" CMOS sensor with 12 MP and 2× optical zoom (24–48mm equivalent). Hybrid zoom reaches 4× by combining optical and digital zoom. Compared to the Mavic 2 Pro, the smaller sensor means inferior low-light performance, but the optical zoom extends visual range in inspections at distance, identification tasks, and security monitoring.
Modular Accessory System
The top connector supported three accessories: a spotlight (searchlight for nighttime operations), a speaker (public address from altitude), and a beacon (strobe for visibility). This modular system was DJI's first attempt at an enterprise accessory ecosystem — one that later matured in the Mavic 3 Enterprise platform.
Current Relevance
Like the Enterprise Dual, the M2E Zoom faces support end-of-life in May 2026. Operators using this platform should plan migration to current-generation enterprise platforms (Mavic 3 Enterprise or Matrice series) ahead of the support cutoff.
