DJI Lito: Leaked Images Reveal Two New Drones
Insider Igor Bogdanov, known in the industry as @Quadro_News, published polished product images of the DJI Lito 1 and DJI Lito X1 in the first week of April 2026 — two foldable sub-249g drones not yet officially announced by DJI. The photos show near-final designs and confirm specifications that had been circulating in FCC filings since January.
Both models share the same weight limit (below 249 g), O5 transmission with 20 km range, and omnidirectional 360° obstacle avoidance — a combination previously unavailable in DJI's consumer price range. An official launch is expected in Q2 2026.
What the Leak Reveals
The images shared by Bogdanov show two drones with foldable arms, a 3-axis gimbal with integrated front camera module, color-tipped propellers, and an LED indicator. The design is described as more refined than the current Mini generation, with revised battery latches and quick-release propellers.
According to information consolidated by Daily Camera News and PhotoWorkout, the main specifications of both models are:
| Spec | DJI Lito 1 | DJI Lito X1 |
|---|---|---|
| Weight | < 249 g | < 249 g |
| Flight time | up to 50 min | up to 50 min |
| Transmission | O5 (SDR + 5G, 20 km) | O5 (SDR + 5G, 20 km) |
| Obstacle avoidance | 360° (fisheye + IR) | 360° (fisheye + IR + LiDAR) |
| Internal storage | ~22 GB | ~42 GB |
| Wind resistance | Level 5 | Level 5 |
| Estimated price | ~$330 | ~$759 |
Camera specs — sensor size, video resolution, and log profile support — have not yet been confirmed by the leaks.
Context: Does the Lito Line Replace the Mini Series?
The Mini line is the primary driver of DJI's dominance in the global consumer segment. The DJI Mini 4 Pro is currently the best-selling sub-250g drone, while the Mini 4K fills the entry-level slot — both without omnidirectional obstacle avoidance or O5 transmission.
The Lito series appears to be an evolutionary rebranding of this lineup: the names "Lito 1" and "Lito X1" mirror the current two-tier structure (entry and pro), and the estimated prices of $330 and $759 correspond exactly to the launch prices of the Mini 4K and Mini 4 Pro.
The DJI Mini 5 Pro — which also appears in rumors — may be renamed as the Lito X1, or both could coexist. DJI has not commented.
O5 Transmission: The Biggest Technical Leap
The O5 system represents a real advance over O4 (found in the Mini 4 Pro): 20 km range (vs. 12 km under FCC conditions), SDR + 5G support, and lower latency in congested urban RF environments. For pilots operating in cities or in high-interference conditions, this is a practical improvement — not just a spec sheet number.
The Lito X1 goes further than the Lito 1 on obstacle avoidance: in addition to fisheye cameras and infrared sensors, it includes a LiDAR-like module for detecting thin obstacles (wires, branches, fences) where purely optical sensors tend to fail.
Regulatory Impact: Sub-249g Still Matters
The sub-249g weight limit remains the most important regulatory threshold in most countries. In the US, recreational flyers under this weight are exempt from FAA registration under the Exception for Recreational Flyers. In the EU and many other markets, sub-250g drones fall into lighter regulatory categories under drone frameworks.
With O5 and 360° obstacle avoidance, a Lito X1 owner gets Air 3-level safety features — from a 720g drone requiring more permits — in a sub-249g package. For pilots who rely on that weight exemption, this is significant.
